a Japanese Buddhist term for enlightenment, meaning “understanding”. In the Zen Buddhist tradition, satori refers to the experience of kensho - a term used in Zen traditions meaning “seeing into one’s true nature.” Ken means “seeing,” sho means “nature” or “essence.” Satori and kensho are commonly translated as enlightenment, a word that is also used to translate bodhi, prajna and buddhahood.
Zen Buddhism: (literally “seated meditation”; Japanese: 坐禅; simplified Chinese: 坐禅; traditional Chinese: 坐禪) a meditative discipline practitioners perform to calm the body and the mind, and be able to concentrate enough to experience insight into the nature of existence and thereby gain enlightenment.
Zazen is considered the heart of Zen Buddhist practice. The aim of zazen is just sitting, “opening the hand of thought”, that is, suspending all judgmental thinking and letting words, ideas, images and thoughts pass by without getting involved in them.
Walking meditation adds a lovely new dimension to your traditional meditation practice. It is good to do a few minutes of walking meditation prior to your sitting meditation, as it is easier to stay present and concentrated and helps to bring you to a state of tranquility. With each step you take you bring yourself totally into the now, following the body as it moves from the beginning of the step all the way through until the foot comes back to the floor.
Walking meditation is actually very simple. Simply stand with your feed about shoulder width apart, and take a step forward so that your heel and toe are almost right next to each other. Step with patience. Take your time, do not rush.
As you take this step say to yourself “stepping”, either in your head or out loud bringing yourself fully into the step. When you say it make sure you begin saying it as your foot leaves the ground and you finish saying it as your foot comes back in contact with the earth. Then do the same with the other foot.
As you take each step feel the motion of your leg as it swings through the step. Feel your muscles relaxing and contracting. Be absolutely present with each step. Walk as if each step is a gentle kiss to the ground.
When it comes time to turn around, bring yourself to a stop and say to yourself “stopping”, beginning when you start to stop and ending when you do stop. Then as you stand there, say to yourself “standing” over and over again. As you are standing there, bring your awareness to the muscles in your body holding you there. Again, dive deeply into the present moment, really just BE there.
As you turn around bring yourself into it, say to yourself “turning” as you rotate. Truly become one with the movement. After you finish turning, either return to standing or continue walking. Always becoming one with whatever movement you are doing.
Now as you’re walking, thoughts may arise. When they do arise simply bring yourself to a stop the same way you would normally, and say to yourself, “thinking…thinking…thinking” until the thought has passed and then continue walking.
Walking meditation is a wonderful way to switch up your normal routine and keep your meditation interesting. It is a beautiful physical manifestation of our patient and steady walk upon our spiritual paths.
Namaste pilgrims. May your way always be lit with the fire of enlightenment.
1. Your life becomes significantly more clearer and calm
The hustle and bustle of everyday life is choking our minds of the peace we deserve! Our technology advancements shouldn’t suffocate our minds, it should allow us to achieve more peace. Meditation helps put those events in perspective for our daily tasks.
2. Your blood pressure is lowered
Science has proven it, meditation lowers the blood pressure, which in return is related to your stress levels and stress management. Much better than taking pills to lower your blood pressure!
3. People around you enjoy your company
Regular meditation leads to higher/positive energy that you are consistently tapping into. This effectively makes you very pleasant to be around, and people like that! People naturally gravitate to the people that make them feel good.
4. Your connection with God is strengthened
Spiritual awareness is strengthened with a daily meditation practice. You naturally become more aware of your surroundings, and higher awareness always leads to a deeper connection with God. The trees begin showing personalities, and the landscape takes on different meanings … all through a deeper awareness.
5. You achieve several hours of sleep in one 20 minute meditation session
Another scientific fact is that meditation is known to put you into a deeper state of rest than deep sleep. Deep sleep is associated with a delta brainwave. Deep meditation can drop you into that delta brainwave rapidly, achieving the effects in a shorter amount of time.
6. Problems that seemed very difficult suddenly have clear solutions
For every problem a solution exists. When your mind is clear and your in a state of peace, solutions appear. Being in a state of peace just naturally attracts solutions and pathways into your field of view.
7. Your productivity sky rockets because of your ability to have clear focus
If solutions to problems appear more frequently when meditating daily, then imagine what happens to your everyday tasks. Solutions to everyday life become more and more obvious. And you begin to take note of these subtle changes as your spiritual vision grows clearer and wider.
8. Your life expectancy increases
Science has shown that regular meditation will increase your life expectancy. It’s pretty obvious to see … less stress and more peace promotes healthy cells and healthy cells regenerate healthier cells. And likewise, stressed cells regenerate more stressed cells. So live longer by choosing more peace in your life.
9. You effectively reduce stress in your life
Speaking of stress, meditation has a profound effect on reducing stress in your body. Because meditation promotes peace and inner calm, stress dissolves dramatically from this meditative process. Again, science has proven it.
10. You can visualize powerfully when combined with positive affirmations and meditation
Meditation is powerful at clearing the mind and focusing on simple things … like breathing … or a flower. But, it can be used for so much more! To powerfully manifest your desires, you must get into a clear connection with the source of manifesting (God(YAHWEH)/Universe/Ethers). If your spirits are on high while you visualize then the communication channel for manifesting positive events in your life is strengthened.
While meditating I like to repeat affirmations, otherwise known as mantras, to help focus my energy into the positive. These statements can be as simple as “love” or “I am love, I am joy, I am peace”.
11. You feel fantastic throughout your day!
And finally, when you meditate on a regular basis, you just feel fantastic. Plain and simple. You feel good.

Tibetan Buddhist Chant.
“Ohm Mani Padme Hum” healing mantra.
Next time you try meditating, find a quiet place and rest your eyes…
There are a few intro techniques, but these may help…
The silent observer technique is one where you allow the thoughts to flow through your mind like clouds, but you hold no judgment as they come and go.. you simply observe them..
Where did they come from? Why did they come? No judgments… just observations…
You are not the thoughts, but the observer behind them.
Sometimes the thoughts are like storm clouds ravaging the mind, sometimes they are weightless and float on with no substance…
Just watch… and soon, you will be observing yourself observe yourself…
Also, breathing can be a meditation in itself.
Try sitting, eyes closed, relaxed…calmly breathe in your nose for 3 seconds, and breathe out of your mouth for 3 seconds…
Breathe from your abdomen and upwards, filling both the lower and upper chamber of the lungs…
You can envision the air entering your lungs as life giving energy, or love, filling every cell of your physical and energy body…and then as you exhale, that love reaches all of your surroundings… embodying you, the earth, the trees and animals, the planets, the stars, the nebulas, etc….
That is an advanced technique and takes time ,but you can slowly work into it… you will see positive results right away!
Everyday we stimulate our chakra centers in one way or another, for example, through the different thoughts we have or physically through our senses. Daily we energize our centers, consciously or unconsciously, through various methods. Following is a list of common ways we charge our chakra centers:
Thought is an energy form. Science has proven a positive thought allows our energy to flow freely and unrestricted. Whereas, negative thoughts decrease energy within our body. Every thought (whether mental or emotional) is connected to a chakra. For example, a passionate thought is a red energy stimulant, but an angry thought decreases one’s positive red energy flow. This means that continual angry thoughts will lower your root chakra’s energy.
This is our most important energy source. Through light all the seven color energies flow from the sun’s rays to the earth. People, animals, plants, minerals, water and our chakras receive energy from the sun’s light. (If you are not able to enjoy the sun for a few hours daily, add a quality full spectrum light bulb to a light source in your work area or in a lamp at home.)
When the sun’s rays bless all plant life, it gives the plant life/energy. Once the plant absorbs energy, the color energy that remains is the energy of that fruit, vegetable or flower. Without this energy our body could not assimilate the nutritional value of the food. Balance your chakras daily by eating foods that contain each of the seven color energies (that’s why the doctor always said to eat a plate of different colored foods… for the color value!).
Meditation & Breathing (Yoga). Since thought is an energy form you can stimulate your chakra centers through meditation, visualization or breathing energy into your various chakra centers. By adding the color intention adds additional power from a chakra’s vibration.
Gemstones and minerals are also energy forms. For example, crystals contain a similar crystalline structure as the human body. Crystals amplify energy and can be programmed (e.g. computer chips and watches). Wearing gemstone jewelry or placing gemstones and minerals in your environment is a simple way to absorb the stone or mineral’s healing vibrations.
(One of my favorites!) Water is a conductor of energy and color is an energy. While lying in the colored water your body absorbs the vibrational frequency from the color. Take the time to give back to your body and soul! While bathing, balance that chakra by thinking about what you would like to achieve from that specific energy and maybe add the correlating aromatherapy oil. Do not use chemical food coloring to dye your water. I recommend Colour Bath™ by Colour Energy Corporation, as it is totally organic and therefore safe to use.
Cleaning up the Pineal Gland is useful for those wishing to develop their multidimensional perception. The Pineal gland will naturally make its own DMT when fully operational and we will be able to remain in a visionary state most of the time. An awakened pineal gland brings the ability to consciously astral travel, explore other dimensions, foresee the future and receive communications from loving dimensional beings.
DMT is a component of Ayahuasca - a plant medicine from the Amazon that brings profound physical and heart healing through its purgative effects and the perception of other dimensions. Those that use this medicine go into a period of “work” where issues come into awareness and can be healed with the insights that come from DMT consciousness.
The advantage of cleaning up our pineal gland so it makes its own DMT is that we can be in a continuous state of spiritual “work” and we are spared the purgative effects of drinking the ayahuasca. Thus we no longer need any medicines as an adjunct to our spiritual lives. DMT is a totally natural substance that the human body will manufacture and distribute when it is in a healed state. Thus it would appear human beings were intended to be visionary beings and be able to tap into the information in other dimensions. This dimensional perception transcends the ego and rapidly heals our sufferings, conflicts and thus karmas.
